Ha ha ha you are such a dick. The R8 is Audi's "sports car". It is mid-engined, a 2 seater, costs twice as much, has some 70bhp more, more torque, and has 5 or so more years of development and it still can't beat the CSL (which is based around a bog standard, 10 year old design E46 coupe) around the Ring. You can't see the significance of that? Ha ha ha.
By the way, reading this thread about how much money you make unblocking other peoples' turds out of their toilets has been quite amusing. The best bit is you even compare your salary to other people on here you don't even know. You are a bigger dick than I had originally thought possible (and that is saying something). To top it all off, you drive a knackered S40 and have never driven an Audi, beamer or any of the other cars you cut and paste about... you are simply a JOKE!
Can't you get the hint: people keep banning you, they hate you, now go away. People reply to your threads because each time they give you more rope to hang your self, and it gives them a good laugh.

So standard for standard, the production R8 is SLOWER than the FASTER production M3 CSL. But if you think £20K is small change, add that to the R8 list price, then 997 turbo or GT3 would also whip the R8's ****. Spend £20K in modifying the M3 CSL to the same list price as the R8, the R8 would be even more of a joke.
Two facts stand out here:
1. Standard for standard the M3 CSL "slaps the R8" silly around the 'ring! FACT!!
2. Audi have yet to come up with a faster car than BMW. FACT!!

Audi are lagging behind if they are only now producing an engine that has to have it's torque restricted - Merc have had to do this since the start of the Millenium.
The power that the triple turbo will no doubt at least be similar to a quad turbo, but 3 turbos will no doubt be lighter than 4 - weight saving is the best way to better handling
As for the comment about the Audi being cleaner, more powerful and (I loved this bit) "a more beautiful power curve". Have you driven the latest Merc diesels? (I do so on a regular basis - I service them & have regular access to my mates A6 3.0TDi Quattro for a comparison - nothing in it really). I MOT many cars, and can assure you that a well kept Merc is easily as clean as a well kept Audi, just as a poorly kept example of either will smoke like a chain smoker in a B&H factory.
And I know it isn't a direct link to "the competition", but be assured, barring mechanical failures, Peugeot will beat the Audi's at LeMans (The way that Merc are the pace setters in the DTM)
