We are looking possibly now at turkey, decent hotels at decent prices with plenty to do for the little one who will be 3 when we go. Got to get the holiday in before I start doing strange hours at work!!

yeah shes ok - she was going over that little bridge where the globe pub is in dukinfield and on the top of the blind hill as you go down some nobber was on hear side of the road, she had nowhere to go but to put it into the barrier (red mesh) wrecking the car. the guy just missed her (only cause she moved well over to the left) and shot off - she didnt get any details nor did anyone else as it happened so fast - cars a mess but is being sorted though our insurance
Jo and my daughter are fine just shaken up - the wheel took the full force snapping everything under the car - driveshaft ETC we managed to get the mangled wheel off and put the spare on so we could move the car off the road

Took the wifes car in for a free health check today, now weve only done less than 6k in it since weve had it and it was 'apparantly immaculate' when we got it.
Battery has been dying so they tested that as this was the main reason for it going in, they said it was ok and it may of just been the recent bad weather taking its toll. Anyway they then went on to check it, by the way i should point out we bought the car from Lexus Chester but we took it for its health check in Lexus Liverpool. Anyway fault list
two new tyres (£420)
four wheel alignment (£70)
leaking radiator (£720)
faulty front suspension (£?)
front and rear brakes (£?)
I got the two new tyres for £384 which when i checked it out on line was a good deal, i also booked the wheel alignment but the machine was broke so its going back in. as for the others all i can say is my warranty best cover it!!!! i aint happy as when ive checked all the history it says that 18 months ago the brakes where 60% worn so they must not of been changed and if you ask me between that service and the one i got when we bought it the brakes have not been changed, i have no advisory from the MOT they put on it so i think they have pulled a fast one and not changed them. Also the rad should be covered no problem and also the suspension. if there not then im going to take the ******* to court.
Im going to be calling thee salesman we bought it off tomorrow and he is going to get a good rollicking off me, i want it all fixed for nothing and im also expecting some sort of compensation off them, when we first bought it they gave us a story about how they had took it as a part ex from a custmoer who searched the country for her new car and they delivered it to her in scotland and then drove ours back, withing two minutes of picking it up and getting on the motorway i had to turn tround and go back as the wheel bearing was making so much noise i thought it was going to collapse, also the radi owas faulty. im not a happy bunny at all and with the money we have spent i dont expect this sort of service from supposedly the BEST dealer network around

warren if i can get a sensible qoute for the insurance then ill be speaking to him, at the moment im struggling to get insurance under 1k due to insurance companies being silly, i had a claim 3 years ago next month from when my old wagon got 'borrowed'.
I would only use this as a weekend toy really and it would save me doing all my personal miles in the wifes car or my van

he ended up getting offered 6k part ex, i wasnt going to pay that for it so he has done that instead, im now waiting and biding my time for the 'right' car to come along, ive got my eye on one on here and im also interested in STI's now, im loooking at Saloons as well as that way i have more choice. I dont want to go down the whole modding route again so i want one thats already had everything done to it or and STI with PPP
I aint in no rush though mate and it may be months before i get another one or i may just give up and do something else with my money, only time will tell mate

Thought you werent going to go back to a scoob? Have you thought about an m3 or you just after a "cheap" weekend toy?
Must admit my trophy suprised me a few nights ago, it feels slow to me (coming from my evo I suppose it would) was on the m62 and a newage scoob was in front of me (well he was in the outside lane when the other 2 lanes were clear) He booted it (could tell by the exhaust note change) so I booted mine and reeled him in then went past. Maybe he had a problem with his

Also I cant believe the handling on mine it just sticks to the road, I have more confidence going round roundabouts faster than in my evo (I am sure the evo will corner faster its just feeling what the cars doing)

Dont really want a BMW as the image is all wrong and they are bloody expensive for what they are.
I laways said i missed my ST more than my scoob but to be honest i think i was just kidding myself as at the time i never wanted another due to putting my wife and kids in danger again as you have to remember they came into my house whilst i was out, not a nice feeling. things have changed now, i live in a quiet cul de sac now right in the corner and i also have a garage that is nice an secure so it will live in there.
I keep thinking of what car to get but i keep going back to the scoob, i will have a budget of about 7-8k i hope and preferably i want one thats already had everything done to it, that way it doesnt turn into a modding money pit. i would prefer to buy one of here and to be honest i probably wont even psend the 7-8k unless its perfect, i dont want a hawkeye id prefer a blobeye, also i will only be doing about 4k in it a year so mpg doesnt worry me, i just want something i can have a blast in when im on my own on the way to work or something.

if its for something for yourself when your on your own why dont you get a caterham or something like that? Has Adam got rid of his TVR yet? thats in budget isnt it. Just re checked that ad, for some reason I thought it was an 02 plate, should read it better, all in suppose not too bad, shame about the bodywork though. If you hold out you will get something decent though off here, prices are all over the place at the moment, at least you have your head screwed on and no not to pay over the odds ![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Did your Mrs have the work done on her car yet?

what about an evo? you can get a decent one for 8k (evo 8) as they are hard to shift at present, or you could get a well sorted evo 5 or 6 for less than your top end budget.

yes i may look at them as well, only thing that worries me with them is the servicing costs, i remember pete at prosport saying there not as service friendly as a scoob, will still have a nose though

Ste for the mileage your doing its a once a year job (although I would change the oil and filter a few times) The thing with the evos is that they are actually easy to work on, so if you took it somewhere then I suppose it could be expensive, but if you do it yourself its the cost for engine and gearbox / diff oils depending on version. If you got an RS version it doesnt have the AYC so even less to service (RS is the lightweight version no creature comforts as such, is lighter and even more raw). Also if anything does go wrong, its a damn site cheaper than a scoob to fix
