Why are you interested in it anyway DW, are you after a 205 that actually moves under it's own power, or just one that's in a more 'manly' colour

Cheeky get

Mine is running now, and in the best colour ever. As for why I fancy another, could do with another for the collection, plus I want to try this manly "sorrento gay" colour that you lot go on about

Merry 205 Xmas to all

Just had the oil/filter change, and the uprated engine mounts put on. Can't say I feel loads of extra vibration, but the dash vibrated a little, but nothing through the pedals.

Have also fitted new plugs distributer cap and battery. Only thing to do now is to T-cut the very faded and oily fingermarked bonnet.

Took it out today, very dry roads here. Took it for my first standing start and bloody hell, forgot what wheelspin was all about!

Why is this? Is it due to the low weight of the car that farting just at turn in will upset the balance and cause a crash? Hmm.....

lift off oversteer, the pugs a nightmare for it. If you lift of the back will whip round like a goodun causing you to be a hero and control it or end up in a hedge thinking WTF.

Its happended to me a few times, nearly wiped my brother out on the way to trax due to me getting a bit too keen on an island

Lift off oversteer is the best thing about a 205. We had our track car round knockhill in the rain in October . . . . . . . . we came into the pits and someone asked me if it was rear wheel drive LOL

On a different note: anyone noticed the values of One-Nines creeping up?

Been watching 2 cars on Ebay this week. Both pretty decent (but not absolute corkers). One finished at £2800 (a catted one too), the other £2900. Not exactly a prime time of year to sell either.

The car has been touted as a "future classic" for a bit now: are we now at "classic" status?? Values of RS2000's went through the roof a few years back: could the 205 go the same way? Looks like me and Scoobyjawa are on an earner then: chopping and modifying always de-values. Especially Mi16 conversions

Pretty good nick to be fair. A 1.6 with a 1.9 engine in.

Excellent runner too. Smooth idle and goes like a hot chick.

Oi, Stop slagging our Puggy !!
Body Wise - there was minor rust at base of drivers door. The rest of the entire car is solid (surprised me a bit)
Mechanically - Broken dipstick tube & goosed driveshaft
Interior - couple of gauges not working due to conversion & drivers seat bolster worn.
Thats it, Otherwise its in excellent nick
Rust removed & repainted, dipstick tube & driveshaft replaced, gauges fixed & interior binned for buckets/cage/harnesses etc
Well worth £250 imo

Daz
Gotta be worth Oh £2K now

I remember on old Top Gear back in the late 90's they said that it will become a future classic. I decided then I wanted another that I could look after. It definitely will be though. It has such a rep, most people love them, mags love them - everyone wants to own one now to see what the fuss is about
I've noticed the prices starting to drift up too - its all good.

Mines very mildy modded - but I have all the orignal parts to put it back to 100% standard (only mods are K&N, Magnex BB and GE Quickshift). Oh and its a 1990 Sorrento with about 76k original miles on the clock (original engine no rebuild)

Do I detect the sound of rubbing hands there, Can't see the bean counter parting with that much though

One of these days you might even carry out your threat and sell it, you'll have dig it out from under all that dust first though

Default BEST 205 GTI 1.9 ANYWHERE

Hi guys - noticed this post on the legendary 205 GTi 1.9.

If any of you are interested I am selling the best 205 GTi in the country with all old mots, more than fsh, 53k genuine miles and in superb condition - looks like new. please view 205gtidrivers.com and it is the best one on the site.

incidentally, there is also a mega bhp 205 gti with a t16 rally car engine for sale on the site too - if you click on that you can watch a video of it and it will most likely be the fastest car you have EVER seen.

please email me if you are interested in my car at

haworthlloyd at hotmail.com

as i don't come on this site often
cheers
lloyd
