What happened? Why not stick to your word rather than coming back on here to bang on about your crappy old Porsche, ringing and the birds french shopping trolley?
Anyway back on topic the Civic is better in every way than the 182 except perhaps outright 'fun' for want of a better word. As an ownership proposition there is no competition though the Type R wins hand down unless you are on a tight budget.

....come to think of it, it's on a similar gayness level to most scooby owners. Only difference is, their hot hatch has a boot.
Chill people, this thread is a question on the 182. Wicked car. The CTR wasn't involved - was it?

Anyway explain how the 182 makes a better choice that the CTR because I really cannot see it. Unless of course one can't scrape together a few more pennies to make the step up?

Compared to its competition i.e. the CTR, the clio is good but not quite good enough im afraid.
And it seems a few others agree!!

To use your crappy parlance what is 'gay' is owning a hot hatch just to 'rag the bollox of it' because if that's all you want to do there are far better choices than a hot hatch. ******* amateurs.

CTR isn't a Hot Hatch imo - I consider it slightl;y a touch above.
So, what's better than a hot hatch to rag the fooock out of for 3 grand?? please do tell cos I fear I've made a TERRIBLE mistake buying a GTi-6 to hammer the bollox off.

Tread carefully, you have NO IDEA what I have owned <blows own trumpet>

I guess it is inevitable that if you are asking peeps opinions on iether the CTR or Clio you are gonna get the other one brought into the conversation at some point. They are very comparable for performance (in the real world). And both have their advocates. The Civic has a cracking engine, a gearbox to die for and a chassis that grips amazingly well. Yet the Clio has the sort of steering feel that CTR drivers can only dream of.
The only two points I would make are:
Whilst 'Civic' is hardly an inspired choice of name, whoe'd want a car called a 'Clio'
And Hondo DO NOT offer silly white go faster stripes as an option .

The Civic is a Hatchback and the Type R bit makes it a hot hatchback!
If MickyQ is considering a Clio he should also look at the CTR cause for a few extra quid it is the better package. And you can Rag the bollocks of it all day long and bits wont fall off it!
Anyway hot hatchs were never designed to look outstanding, they were designed to be fun driving machines that dont cost the earth!!

You've talked utter bollocks and have no way of defending those comments because of them being utter sh1te. What's 'gay' is a couple of nomarks like you and the ring licker talking rubbish on what started out as a serious thread.
The Clio is a good hot hatch but as an ownership proposition there are much better choices to be made, the Civic for one although I'd probably not go for one myself.

Easy tiger!! lol. I prefer the Civic myself over the Clio, I considered buying one however I considered 12k too much money for something that is designed to be hammered. So, I have a cheap car to get me to work (110 miles a day) and a 306 GTi-6 for track/'Ring usage. Thus far, I have said nothing that is negative towards you in the slightest.
You are a stressy blighter aren't ya!!!!
Chill Labour boy - it's only the internet....

Oh, there's nothing tired about a 1998 R plate GTi-6 soon to be running a decent suspension setup - or do I need to spend masses of (borrowed) money to go fast Mr New Labour??
The irony in your "amateur" comment is undoubtedly un-equaled.

Why not get something a bit better than a GTI-6 for the ring? Like a 306 Rallye for a start or was that a bit too much money for you?

"Something a bit better" - elaborate?? What would you suggest?? Seriously, I'm keen to have any input on this point.
P.S. Bearing in mind Rallye's are cheaper I'd think twice before posting that.
