Evo V
Friend of mine will be picking up his evo v this weekend, apparently it is unmodded. Are there any problems on this model that he should be made aware of?
Also what sort of performance difference will there be between his evo and my99 uk turbo, full decat with panel filter and tek 3 remap?
I understand that his will have more as standard out of the box, just interested really.
I do not want this to turn into a pissing match between evo owners and scoob owners this is purely for a knowledge point of view for me
TIA

I swapped a 00 classic with PPP for an Evo V with full 3in exhaust de-cat and a blitz filter. The Evo would blow the scooby away. Not sure what a tec3 would give a scoob so can't compare them. More to go wrong on an evo as I found to my cost!!! Clutch was £750.00!!!! and servicing is dearer and more often. Got shut and now drive a very pleasant CTR.

fitz,
If its been serviced properly then only weakness really is the clutch, definitely not designed for drag strip starts. Depending on whereabouts in the country your mate is servicing is frequent, but does not have to be that pricey, www.btrprep.com has some ideas.
Little difference between Evo 5 & Evo 6, both quick cars as standard, add decent exhaust, air filter and tweak and you get somewhere round 330bhp. If you haven't experienced an Evo, you may be pleasantly surprised at how much fun they are
