Default We'll ring you back.....

WHY do people say that, and not do so?

Just waited THREE hours for a call back about a spring for a Clio Sport 197, they didn't ring, so I rang again...."Oh, yeah, you were waiting for a call, weren't you?"

Then, of course, they've sold the last one.

B'stards!

I do seem to have more than my fair share of bad luck.

unless they put a time of call back in the conversation it's an open statement which could take days to close.

Ah I see, sorry my crystal ball skills are lacking today ;-)

It annoys me if a time is mentioned and it doesnt happen.

It annoys me too

I phoned to amend my public liability insurance earlier (9am), the person said 'I'll phone the underwriters to check and get back to you shortly' got a call back 6 hours later
In the meantime (11am) someone in another department had to sort out the 'professional indemnity' part, they phoned me and asked loads of questions, he said 'I'll just print a form out and phone you straight back'........still waiting.......

I phoned to order a new bed and mattress this morning, I had a discount code for 10% off. The woman couldn't get the code to work. She said she would ask her team leader and phone me straight back. You guessed it. I had to phone them back 2 hours later and was met with the response 'I was just about to phone you back'! of course you were

are all these people/companies making fortunes and don't need/want new orders/business?

I quite often forget to ring people back after telling them I will ring them back shortly. Usually it's because I have asked the boss to find out info or a price and he doesn't. In my defence we are probably the busiest tyre garage in town and as the top worker there I am usually running around like a blue arsed fly all day doing several things at once. I always feel very unprofessional when I remember that I was meant to ring somebody and try my best to do so even if it is hours later and I always apologise for the time taken aswell.

In Spain they often say maņana, which directly translated means tomorrow; For example, the parts will arrive tommorow, or I'll call tomorrow.

What they REALLY mean is some random time next week.
