This is all very odd, I have just done my renewal, with L&V!!
It was cheaper than last year, and at just 655 all in for protected ncd, and full business use, with mods I thought it was a bargain!! Priviledge wanted over £100 more........

I don't get it......

my00, with full decat, wheels, springs, spoiler, brakes, dawes.......

Just been stung by this. Changed from my MY99 UK turbo to an O2 UK WRX - £89 extra to pay before the renewal date = which is the 1st July! So thats a £20+ a month hike!!
Will be shopping around in June me thinks!!

Think about it logically. If your insurance premium goes up 30%(I currently pay with L&V £605.00) my new premium would be £786.00. So that's £181.00 more, How much would it cost to sell the car? put too to get a fresh car? (assuming you get a more expensive car than yours is worth) Then you still have to insure the new car? (even if you got a cheaper performance car it would still be at least half as much to insure!!) Bring the new car up to your high standards? (service, belts, clutch, brakes, all of which I've done on my present car) In all the years I've been driving (30!!) and all the cars I've owned (over 30!!) I've always found it false economy to get shut of one car on the grounds of :- fuel consumption, insurance, tax. Because by the time everything is as it was but with a different car, you could have taxed, or insured, or put petrol in the old car for years before you even break even. IMHO of course

My 911 went from £1k to £1.4k, so bang on first posts number. Sold the car anyway and L&V were best quote on the replacement. Quite honestly though the £1.4k was in line with most other quotes I got..the first years premium was incredibly aggressive.

I too am currently with L&V with a BRR220 modified Mini Cooper S. Currently pay £600. Looking at getting a Renaultsport Clio V6 MkII in the next 8-12 weeks and L&V want £1100 due to it being ins grp 20. So Elephant it is at £770.

Default me too :(

Year before last was £780+, last year was £810+, renewal this year £1217.

I called and said under no circumstances was it to automatically renew.

I've had quotes of between £580(ish) and £820(ish) from Pivilege and Tesco.

Looks like I might be returning to Privilege for now.
