Exclamation Please Read - Liverpool Victoria - Groups 19+

Thought this was worth a thread of its own.

This excludes UK WRX's, only cars within groups 19-20. L&V underwriters have re-classified vehicles in groups 19-20 and loaded them as if they were classified Group 26. This is going to see a 40% increase in premiums.

Mine has gone from £654 to £954 with no changes on the policy.

Anyone who sees a renewal at similar price to last year and in groups 19-20, I'd be interested to see.

04 WRX PPP mine has gone from around £900 to £1150 with no changes / claims on the policy

Only place I've found cheaper is Direct Line at £1050, but they want a tracker

So i know how you feel

So far my insurance has fallen every year with Tesco. Just onto my 3rd Scooby MY00 3 years no claims, 23 and it comes in at £1600 living in London. Not too bad I thought.

I'm with LV and the renewal is about 3 weeks time. As last years renewal form came about 3 days before it was due, I'm not surprised I haven't received this years' yet.

However, as I've just received a quote from Warwick-Davis for £599, LV can put my premium up to £2500 and I'll not care

Paid them £730 last year, and I expect their price to be nearer the grand this time round after all the changes I've been reading that they've made.

MY94 WRX with minor mods (K&N, decat centre, H&S backbox, different grille and rear spoiler)

Andy.

Currently LV customer. paid 800 last year but now they want 1090 for an 02 UK Sti despite no claims. Direct Line 782, just been onto Privelige and 682. Good I thought, but breakdown cover small print states that your car must not be modified in any way or they will not assist. Please be aware of this.

If I ever had to pay over £800 for my policy for a modded car then mine would also go straight into the trader...
tis a perfectly sensible reason to look at other marques I would suggest.

Got my slightly modded (prodrive springs and scoobysport backbox) UK Sti insured through L&V. Just got my renewal quote through and it's gone up nearly 300 quid from last year despite the car being worth less, having an extra years no claims etc...

Think I'll be looking elsewhere.....

Yep, if i get a mad increase in premium, then its up for sale....... im not paying 1/4 of the value of the car in insurance... I aint getting old for nothing.....you expect some bonuses in life....as they say, it'll be time to hang the boots up'.

P1 ( GROUP 19 )

Renewal was a couple of weeks ago, last year it was £1100, this year £1600!

Called them and they told me the same, group 19 was now group 26 (apparently McClaren F1s are 26! )

In the end i went with one of those insurers that advertises in the back of Jap Performance mag ( £1050 )

Is it the mods that are causing the problems, or just scoobs in general???

I've spent today trying to get insurance for a 02 wrx wagon.
So far
Cheapest quote with tracker £480 Privilege
Cheapest quote w/o tracker £700 NU.

Majority of company's want trackers but as I only keep cars for 2 years does not make sense to install one at £350 plus £120 a year subscription. So am I going to pay £700?????........No.
Now looking for a MY00 or MY01 classic at good ole group 17.
