it appears NASA are having server difficulties - you are meant to be able to zoom right in and see much more detail as LANDSAT images are downloaded directly
here are some examples

I d/l mount fuji and the grand canyon both are amazing!
thought this Program is really good esp. seeing its for free. I just wanted to show my Daughter some of the countries where I have worked - she wanted to see where Bethlehem was!

been doing some slow, low altitude, gliding across far flung terrain
R click and scroll lifts up hills and mountain regions
Shame only the US goes down to really detailed resolution!
Yep, it ran first time.

So far ive been looking at the hoover dam, brands hatch, santa pod, eiffel tower (i think), Millenium dome, heathrow, stanstead, gatwick, Mt Doom from Lord of the Rings in NZ, Golden Gate bridge. Its quality. Cant seem to get the extreme close up that you are supposed to though but its pretty good.
Has anyone else tried to look at the south pole? It just loads black squares. I take it the dont have the images or something? The north pole is the same.
How are you guys downloading the UK separately? Does this mean you can zoom without the images downloading and takes ages??

Very cool - I like the way you can zoom in and out with a mouse wheel - best way yet I've found to give my kids a context of where they live relative to the rest of the world.
