Bolt-on 360 bhp x 330lbft: Phase one started.
When I was questioned about my water injection last year, told them it was water only for the injection and intercooler spray.
Its was only noticed when they looked in the boot and saw the tank.
Last years blue book states section 10.5, Fuel 10.5.1 only air can be mixed with fuel as an oxidant
What about after ,ie after the exhaust manifold and is water really classed an oxidant

A chargecooler AND and iceberg (or small fragments of) might be a good way to go for a sprint car, but to do it properly you need a big rad. At the 500hp sort of levels, the intercooler can be shedding as much as 70hp (if it's efficient).

Just somewhere to test what your car actually does and how quick you can go round corners in it. (Just a thought, you might not need one anyway so don't take it the wrong way

No offence taken at all, and you make a very valid point.
I know my 'bravery' limit is rather low, but training in Hill Climbs is very hard to find. Track/rally..all easy but hill climbs are a special subject.
A good smooth Aerodrome with some marker cones and a full day is the best idea.
I have only spun a car racing 3 times in my life, and one resulted in a crumpled 911...

Going FMIC this next few days when i find one. Can you fit a FMIC and still keep the stock Sti airbox/panel filter?
Don't really want to fit a cone thing and cold airbox, BUT, if I did have to which is the best type? (and where from).

Hybrid FMIC means NO standard air box. K&N 57i on mine <£100.

You can have a trumpet that bolts on to the MAF housing if you want...
Gerry, smaller bore trumpets are available than the 4 inch diameter monsters fitted on the rotated Garrett turbos

I think with most FMIC, the pipe work comes through the inner wing where the airbox normally sits.
One idea, have a look at the engine bay of a Group A Impreza, they have a cone filter just behind the headlight. With a shield around it to stop heatsoak.

Sourced an inlet system in anticipation of sourcing the FMIC this week.
Now know that the panel filter MUST go which looses the 'stock' look to kid the EVO I've done little to the car!
From being bored I'm a bit busy now!!

I used to have an HKS FMIC and it was great...changed it because it was found to be a bit restrictive at around the 550 brake mark
oh and the Lateral Kit was prototyped on my car, so I got a deal.
Things to watch out for on it are:
The pipe work is painted mild steel, which gets manky very quickly and covered in rust staines
The core is made from quite a soft alloy so it get's little dings in it if left exposed to the elements, but this does mean it's fairly resistant to being punctured (although mine was where someone backed into it)
The core doesn't like road salt and corrodes very quickly to a dull, dirty, pitted finish...a light dusting of paint is advised, ideally from new, and then regularly recoated when the paint wears off
On the phase 2 engine version the pipe work doesn't seal very well with the stock style dump valve, it's better to get the phase 1.5 (Sti 3/4) pipework which uses a far better style of dump valve mounting

If i can get the FMIC I want soon I can get it all on before a re-map by AndyF including the DIY water spray.

BTW, you'll need a sharp stanley knife to trim the bumper properly...and be bloody careful while you're doing it, I managed to stick the blade into the side of my right hand between thumb and forefinger...blood everywhere...should have got a couple of stiches done, but didn't and once I'd taped it up tried to carry on
took me a couple of days to finish a job that should have taken less than one...

Kev, set up right I doubt he'll notice the difference, I certainly didn't when I went from TMIC to FMIC, mainly because there was so much more power and torque released right across the rev range!

The "Scottish" way to do this would be to draw nice straight lines with a felt pen, then using a Dremmel (or similar) with one of those dinky wee high speed cutters, just zip it, fingers intact, painless job.
