I had the same concerns with regards to 'additional' parts. Mainly stuff like tps etc and the actual setting up of the unit. Seems its a plug and play unit with no extra parts required. the full wiring diagram for it is on the website with an idiots guide how to fit it/set it up...time will tell...

The factory dccd controller is not used at all and the unit is wired in directly to the dccd instead. (2 wires coming out of dccd? purple/red?). Personally, i might use the original pot instead of the one supplied if suitable to stop the cabin looking like the starship enterprise..

All in it was £251 delivered at time of purchase. Its insured but still marked as a 'gift' (by request) and sent express so hopefully the tax man wont be asking me to stump up...

The dash will be coming out soon along with centre console etc so i should be able to have a good look as to exactly how its all connected. Camera on standby....

p.s. just found out my 2.5 is a ej25 and not a ej257. Gutted. Now i need to find an ej257 bare block, and cheap! (already have the gucci bits for inside a 257, rods are different on 25.) Why are cars such a bloody headache??

Thankyou very much for that!
I have the logic diagram, but cannot 'see' the rest.

Sorry to hear about the negine...just as you say Cars are a PAIN to say the least....but you keep going at it!
Trust you will too.

Again, any pisc etc very helpful, but it does seem to be the right thing. Even my wife agrees!

Seems like a stupid way to mark the blocks imo. Surely it wouldnt cost subaru to put a 7 on the end of the 257 blocks.....

Engine type is EJ25, engine model code is EJ257. Just like you get EJ20G, EJ20K EJ207 etc etc.

Neetronics arrived today. Wires for wires but all looks to be good. I was thinking Graham, if this is going to bypass the dccd ecu, i'd be quite happy to send the ecu your way if you're stuck. I'd need to get a couple of hours spare at the weekend to have a good look at it and do a pretend fit though...

Thanks for the offer Doug.
Can i see how you get on first!?
The 22 pages pdf reads well, a lot of splicing into the loom, but on a non-dccd I guess I need to do this anyway.

So how do you know which is which? I mean if an engine is stamped EJ25 - which version?

The 257 has an extra breather on it. Its normally blanked off though. Sit's just off the centre line of the block on the left about 2-3 inches back from the flywheel housing. (infront of that whopping big coolant pipe/manifold).

Cheers to Pavlo for being the only one that pointed this out...!!
