Ran into electrical problems whilst on the MOT.... Battery went flat (not charging) and the test was abandonned.
In all likelyhood it wont make the trackday on Monday because I can't get it retested before then.
Can't be fcuked to work on it tonight, so off home for a quiet night infront of the tv.

Will finish it properly now and at my own pace and take it to a tester that doesn't moan about not having a passenger seat, not having door panels and doens't mind about the fact it wont run Lambda 1 .

Bugga!

Good thinking though, nows the time to take your time.
Refresh and finish her off properly without a rush!

2 pints of Stella should sort you out

Graham.

Excellent work Andy, i can't believe that after all that it's been through, the 'airbag caution' sticker is still on the dahsbaord..... there's not even an airbag......!

Re the front seat query..... what was there problem.... my dad once put a classic car in for a 'pre mot check' we went back later and the guy said... it passed...... eh, dad said, but it hasn't even got any lights..... if it's not fitted, we can't test it was the reply!!!
I have his vintage Morris now, no dipping lights, no brake lights, indicators, wipers, seat belts, lucky to have brakes..... gets mot'd every year without hassle....

Sorry to hear it went pear shape, but proberly for the best, at least you can iron out all the little bugs before you run it, sounds your friendly garage is not so friendly, glad to assist in anyway i can (learned a lot from seeing it first hand so to speak),.

300mm steering wheel and yes it's too small.
Hopefully wont be when I've got my mitts on the motorsport rack though!

MOT wise although he whined a lot when I took it over, he said he " checked the book" and it didn't need a seat to pass. Still moaned about the sharp edges on the doors and emissions though... dunno what I'm going to do there yet if he wont budge on the emissions, too modified to put a standard ecu back in. I've "borrowed" one of works catted milteks for now.
I'll have to go over there with the laptop I suppose and manually hold it at Stoich.

Yes John, I can slow down a bit now, tidy it up and sell a few bits to pay for some new ones...

Hopefully curing the battery charging issues will iron out most of the problems.

Cheers David,
I threw the toys out of the pram Saturday afternoon at about 4.30pm after an unsuccessful afternoon led upside down under the dash looking at the birds nest of that wiring loom.

I fixed it I fixed it

Ended up removing the left hand wing, the dash and some of the wiring loom to sort it but found the problem eventually.

Yup I helped build defiant11's car.... until we fell out about it.

Itching to get it back down the MOT station now but it will ahve to wait as I have a busy weekend..
Donnington Park Saturday and Sunday
then Castle coombe on Monday.

If all goes well and I get a few other small things done during the week you should see it on track the following weekend at Castle coombes Action day.
At last...

What a ball ache that was.
Dash is in properly this time
All lights present and correct, only hurdle I can forsee is the emissions test.
Sans laptop required for that I think.

I went through all the carbon bits I ordered through Roelands Race rally yesterday... wish I hadn't

£1016 quid

bed time now.. got to be at work for 5am

Well done fella.

Good luck with all the rest of your little project.

November and it's been put away for the winter and it's STILL not seen a trackday.

Interest lost.

And for me:

That rotated turbo housing and the FMIC pipes! (kidding)

Just read the same with MarkA's project. The Clio for him and the Landy for you: big distractions.

I think I have just missed the bargain of the year on ebay, a WRX 2.5 short block brand new.... so miffed-off.

Boll@cks.

I'm sure interest will return once I have the other projects out the way and the weather warms up again.
Nowt is going to be sold off of it, you vultures. .

I have my finger in yet another pie at the moment as well, although that has suffered a few set backs. lol (see the 106 thread on22b )

Last track day it did the works race car trick of spitting all it's oil everywhere.
Got some things to do to that before it goes on track again.
My fault anyway, it's still running simple breather filters on the cam covers, not even a catch tank.
The reason I put it away is the tax ran out end of October..
Can't enjoy it in this **** poor weather anyway, plus your feet get wet now.
