I take my filters off with a chain wrench, ratchet and extension bar, no issues. There's not a lot of clearance for a strap wrench or plier type tool. Those Impreza filter size socket tools are the ideal
Expanding and contracting under temperature is the reason they go tight.

Yeah might be £12 for K&N. But normally do alot of oil changes.

Agree jay
KnN filters don't do anything different apart from make your wallet a bit lighter

Genuine Subaru black filter at £8? Or is it a blueprint one?

I’ll take 10 at £8 if it’s the genuine black ones

lol I was going to buy one. I have a Bosch filter a blue print one and OEM black one all in garage. Might just stick to using that spike, 5 second job.
