That's not bad i wish I could get one at that price . Would have to save for a bit . As the wife has just for given me spending £300 on a nos kit . I did tell & show her that its a good deal . £300 .
So in the dog house for a bit . Never mind . She will get over it .

you touch on a serious issue mate, personally I wouldn't have let her know about the NOS. The problem is giving the impression that all of the money is being spent on the scooby, all of the time. Just chuck in the odd Mulberry handbag, expensive jewelry and something nice for the house to balance things up.

Trouble is with nitrous you can only use it that couple seconds a time and you got to keep filling it up when you run out, for the money and the expense of having it fitted you could have bought a bigger turbo and had that extra seconds of power the NOS will give you, the bigger turbo would give you better power most of the time!!

NOS is great if your car is running 500+bhp and used for drag racing and you want that extra bit of power/mill a second off your quarter mile time, but as a road car it really is not needed!!

And make sure you tell your insurance company you are running NOS incase anything does go wrong!!

Here are some vids of NOS going wrong!!

Agree about the money it costs for filling bottles but not about blowing engines. I can put up loads of videos of turbos blowing up motors and I've just bought a subaru from a fella who put 3 con rods through the block. I would never put a nos kit on my car or nitrous express. Only wizards of nos. I've used them for years and and never blown an engine

When he will be using NOS only for spool up,then I would suspect NOS bottle will last long enough,in our case NOS lasted 100 drag runs and several track days and several day to day driving

Blowing the engine with NOS,there is always involved risk with any modification on any car,but when is NOS controlled and mapped correctly then I wouldn't be worried about this

Filling up NOS bottle(10lb) cost around £40-£50

We run NOS Sniper Kit which has been very reliable and WON I've never run and I wouldn't run,I still would go with NOS as with this we are been very happy

Thanks,Jura

But you was running 500bhp and quite a high spec, NOS on a standard-ish WRX is probably last on the list of modifications to be done to a Impreza.

Running meth would be a better option on a slightly modified car!!

Now I don't no what to do . Jura11/ Mickywrx / benny sti / and some of you have given me great help with the nitrous . & as some of you no I got it for a unreal price . Iv got a mate that has a skyline gtr the new one . He has offered me good cash for it , so now I don't no what to do . As if I do run nos I still need lods more stuff to get it working things that I did not no & if I did I may not of got it .
I no I shod of got the ECU 1st & other bits I.e like bottle heater ECU & so on . If I do sell it to my mate & at mo its if i sell it what would -Jura11/ Mickywrx / benny sti & a few others do . Get the ECU 1st & get it mapped . If I did do it my car is runing at 260bhp now so with the ECU , even the one that's for sale on this thread when fitted would they map it up to 300bhp & most of you no it was quick off the lights I wanted not top end . So I would get the mapper to put launch control , & It shod get rid of the turbo lag with the right ECU . Iv got 440 jets witch shod be fine I hope .
I no some of you will not like this but I want it to popping &banging flames.
So I Gess what I am asking is. shod the ECU be the 1st & right thing to get . I don't want to keep getting things wrong any more .
Like I say not sold it yet and still don't no if I want to as nos is something I have always wanted . But as you all no mods on the cars are not cheep & it can run into £1000s . My Cosworth I did 10k and some just on mods .
http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/57874.html
The link I have put up I could sell my nos kit and go for this strat away .
Anyway if I get as much help as I did with the nos I shod have this sorted ASAP . & away I go .

the ECU has nothing to do with me, I was just pointing out that it was currently for sale.
That ECU is mapped for the car it is in at the moment and would require re-mapping for any other car it was installed in. That would still be the case for a new Alkatek
Before you do anything I suggest you speak to your mapper, outline your plans for the car and get his advice. Also to double check that the Alkatek ECU advertised is the correct year for your car, if you are interested in it.
