Default Blob WRX brake advice

My 03 blob wagon is suffering the usual problem of sticking front calipers, now my question is should I go for new discs, pads and refurbed callipers or go for a brembo upgrade off an STI?

The brembos will cost a bit more but is there a big difference in performance?

Also will they fit straight on under my standard 17inch wheels.

I will be interested on your replies to this post as well? with my Hawkeye with its 17" wheels, as I want to fit Brembos, seen different views in posts about spacers being used with 17" wheels. With some saying they damage bearings and the like because of different geometry, others saying its down to design of the wheels you have, which may or may not accommodate the larger brakes possibly we may be looking at a wheels upgrade if you want to fit Brembos?

the new-age STi specific wheels have a slightly different spoke design to clear the bulky Brembo STi caliper, you will generally require wheels

You will need a decent set of pads and discs (PF etc) to make the most of the brembos, I found the newage car to heavy for the set on mine, so swapped to bigger set up.

I'd be looking for a 2nd set of AP's if I was you

work out the cost of brembos, new pads and discs and your not that far off AP's
