Braking issues. New pads and Discs
Installed a set of new pads and discs from godspeed yesterday.
under normal braking (around town they are fine) but braking slowly from motorway speeds there is a mass of vibration through the steering wheel.
Any guess as what maybe at fault.

Did you clean off the hubs of any rust or dust so the disc is sitting perfectly , are all the pistons free in the calipers ? If the calipers are not working right they can overheat the discs and warp them.
It could be pad deposits , what mileage have you done on them , have they been bedded in fully ?
You can call down for me to look at them if your stuck as your local

Hi Ian, I have just sent you an email. but i will clear up on here for you aswell
The hubs were cleaned prior to fitting
All but one of the pistons are clear for movement, i think one of them was f**ked up by a previous garage messing about with a piston (potentially seized)
Mileage has been minimal (less than 30) as i didint want to do any long term damage to a new set of pads / discs.
What time are you open until on friday and Saturday?

He has said on email he has a seized caliper , which will overheat the discs as its like driving with your brakes constantly on , and worse on a brand new disc that hasn't been bedded in yet , it is nothing like using a perfectly working car on a track day.
We do offer guarantees on our discs , but the car has to be working properly in the first place , would you expect me to keep supplying free discs for a year to someone with seized calipers that keeps warping them due to them over heating ??

I've had nothing but good things to say about the disc's I got from Godspeed. One problem I had was I used a Oem brake pads on the rear and they were slightly too long to slot nice and free down into the caliper, this case the pad to stick in against the disc and was getting very hot, I thought it was a caliper until I had a good look at the pad and took it out and grinded down the edge a bit and solved the problem. only my 2 cents mightn't help you out but worth noting. . .

Plus i have now bought a new set of pistons to fit on Monday. Should there be a problem with the discs potentially warping after this short period of time with limited use at low speeds??? I should hope not.

Pistons and seals were sent out today , if you get stuck fitting them or need to know anything give me a ring

This can cause imprinting with uneven pad deposits on the disc and uneven hardening of the disc surface where the hot pad is clamped onto the part of the disc whilst the other part is in free air to cool.

Oh ****, i may have just pissed £120 worth of discs up the wall. Nice !!1
I think i will be putting the old discs back on tomorrow, cant afford to f**k these discs up before having the pistons changed.

Bustamoves move on!!
Bustamoves why is it on every thread involving brakes you try to put Ian and his products down?????? If you have an issue with Ian/Godspeed sort it out get a life and move on.. There are loads of people on here that are more than happy with godspeed brakes so why on every thread do you feel the need to put them down????

Ok it works for some (like yourself) but again, everyone one drives diffrent and have diffrent expectations.
Unlike you I've tried this brake changing game and only the brembos work with right set up IMO.(depends how hard you drive and for long periods of time)
I don't want to bring all this up again as I've said what I think, it's upto you to make the final decisions on what you do.
Good speed seems to have a good rep on here, so I don't see how I could bring him down. I just answer an op post and it goes from there. All my posts are my opinion of course. I'm entitled that.

Ok it works for some (like yourself) but again, everyone one drives diffrent and have diffrent expectations.

Fair enough I have read a couple of your posts on here and taken them the wrong way, if you want to offer unbiased advise then thats your right! For me on the road the 335kit works very well. If you want to use a car on a track then surely a track car is the way forward?? Not an impreza??
