Default DS2500 Pads.

Hi guys.

I have a Hawkeye WRX which has been remapped to 275bhp and 360lb/ft

My mate at work has a civic type R and has fitted braided lines and DS2500 pads and they just show me how crap my brakes are.

I want better brakes for my car. Im not sure what to look at. I want something with excellent braking ability, but don't want to spend loads of money.

Are DS2500 pads good for Imprezas? Or would an alternative be a better option.

Also is it worth upgrade just the fronts and putting standard pads on the rear as most of the force is done by the fronts.

Also braided lines, do Impreza's benefit from braided lines?

I'm thinking that spending around £150 on front pads and maybe £50 on braided lines.

What is best for that kinda money?

The other option is upgrade to an Sti brake kit, but I dont have around a £1000 to drop on it.

1. Great better tires.
2. Yes teh DS2500 are good on the road
3. Get better suspension = better braking.

Braided lines just feel better.

Or get a GODSPEED 335 conversion kit and STOP from SPEED like A GOD.

Same predicament.

Ordered some up-rated discs and kevlar pads from Bob at Aztec.

Have front and rear discs and pads to go on so will let you know the results compared to standard once I get them fitted.

DS2500 for the last few years on my Impreza, very good fast road pad, no complaints at all. Just ordered a new set fro my set up (AP 6's on 355's), reasonable cost from Alyn too. Braided lines will help with feel. Hold out for a quality second hand set up is my advice. New brakes can be a very expensive purchase.
