DS2500 or Bluestuff
Hi all,
I need a new set of pads in my subaru 4 pots,
What are your views on the two types above and what would you choose?
Will be mainly for road use but maybe a few track days.

NDX may not be the best bet in 4 pots.

Thanks for the info people and a very interesting read but still dont no what to do.
At the mo i have redstuff but after a few high speed stops at the weekend they faded and started to produce a lot af smoke.
Now the performance is very poor so i need to replace them asap, I will also be renewing the disks.

Out of the DS2500's or the bluestuff , I rate the bluestuff better , I have been running the bluestuff NDX in my car since September and cannot fault them , we have also ran them in my sons EVO 7 in castle coombe and couldn't fade them .
I see some others have had issue's , especially the guy who put up photo's , but to be honest , the pads I take out of my rally cars haven't seen the heat that those have seen , they have seen some serious use !
The NDX pads were aimed at being an all out race pad , I don't think they are that , but as an all round fast road / track use with limits pad , I don't think they can be beaten.
They do seem to be able to take more abuse , the larger the brakes you have fitted.
Cheers Ian

Carbotech are supposed to be good, I will be trying some soon, I have bluestuff and think they are quite crap to be honest, I have never been on track, but I have got them to fade on the road.

Carbotechs are good , and is a pad we can supply , from people who have tried both , the bluestuff NDX's are on par with the XP8's , how many miles have you done on your NDX's , you will get just about any pad to fade when using them very hard for the first couple of times , they should then settle down and work properly.

I was at the same track day as StevePPP and saw what happened on the day - the pads did not fade on him but he was not braking hard as me although he did do a few more laps as my rad hose blew! I'm running a forged 2.5 at 400BHP his is a near std Wrx with PPP therefore my braking speeds were far higher!
The fact his brakes were smoking after each session (10 laps max) did not inspire confidence. I was going to buy a set of NDX pads for the rears of mine but frankly not taking the risk based on what I observed on Steve's car and the follow up pics of the badly deterioated pads.
I used to run DS2500s in my Std WRX callipers before the AP upgrade and I never had an issue from cold and the pads lasted really well and I never experienced fade including on track days.
OK so I'm now running 4 pot AP's on the front with DS2500s and Redstuff rears (now binned for DS2500s) and my brakes were fine no fade and no issues with pads cracking and failing.
Personally having been most unimpressed with the EBC redstuff pads and now having seen Steve's experience first hand I'll stick with the DS2500s thank you!
