Default K sport caliper rebuild and colour change

Just had some front and rear calipers in off an Evo for a strip and rebuild to colour change them , I don't know what mileage the car had done but its a show car and they wanted the caliper colour changed to red. The anodising had faded quite a bit on the outside face and didn't look that good through his wheels
The calipers were the original orange colour , so we started stripping them down , they like using plenty of thread lock in the factory so were tight coming apart , one of the bolts holding the pad plates in snapped so we had to machine it out
There was some road muck and dust in the bores when we removed the pistons , but it all came out quite easily with no damage to the bores at all.

The pistons are machined with grooves that the seals are fitted into , so the bore in the calipers need to be perfect to hold the seal , the calipers are anodised , which is also in the piston bore , so we wanted to leave the bores untouched , so covered them up and bead blasted the calipers , which were then primed and sprayed bright red

We had some stickers made up locally to finish them off , I thiink they came out quite good

If anyone wants the same doing , we can respray them any colour you want for £65 per caliper

Cheers Ian

Good job and looks well done but prefer the anodised finish

Ian, Can you get all the necessary spares for Ksport, if someone has need of a full repair/rebuild?

Yes we can , if the K sport importer doesn't have spares for them , we could make pistons for them , seals would not be a problem
Cheers Ian
