Default Fitting Rear Brembo's To Classic

I'm about to purchase a set of rear Brembo Gold Calipers to fit onto my Classic V5 Type RA.

I understand you need the modified mounting brackets and handbrake shoes, which Godspeed can supply for £195, just wondered if there is a cheaper alternative??

Thanks Ben

Don't think so, it's what I used when fitting them to my classic.

Speak to Ian, the type RA hubs may be different.

If type RA has R180 rear diff and 2 pot rear calipers they fit on without a kit needed. I bought a used fitting kit from someone who fitted brembos to a type R and as he did not need the kit I bought it,

I definitely have the subaru 2 pot rears, but how do I tell if i have a R180 Diff.

Has anyone else came across this issue with not needing the Kit, Ian could you confirm this??

Cheers Ben

Hi
Yes if you have the later type R rear axle fitted as some of the late RA's did , then yes the brembo's will fit straight on.
If your 2 pots is a kit fitted on with my fitting kit , then you will need the thicker handbrake shoes to fit them.

If you look at your rear discs , is there a 10mm gap between the pads and the bell of the discs , or hardly no gap , this will indicate the handbrake size you have as standard
Cheers Ian

My car is a later V5 Type RA with the original 2 Pots. I have just checked the gap between the edge of Pad and Bell of Disc which is about 3-4mm. Here is a pic below.

Does this confirm I do not need the Kit?

Cheers for you help Ian, I'll be contacting you shortly for some new 330mm front discs soon, as we both know they are to the same quality as PF & AP

Hi
Yes you have the 190mm handbrake so the gold brembo rear 2 pot calipers and 316mm discs will fit straight on , no need for a fitting kit.

lol at the front discs give me a shout when you need them

Cheers Ian
