Track tyres for concrete
Any tyre recommendations for abrasive concrete (ie Elvington). I keep a set of R888s for tarmac but find wear rate on concrete unacceptable. I'm currently trying a set of Hankook RS2 Z212 (wear rating 200) from Camskill and they seem reasonable. Another possibility is Yokohama Parada 2 which has a wear rating of 300 but I have no experience of these.
Cheers, Diccy.

I've used Parada's on the road & track... they do wear well but are not one of Yokohama's better tyres IMO. The Pirelli PZero Corsa road legal track tyres are very good however, especially as you can pick a set up for £240, they are what we use on our track car. One set has gone through 3 track days so far and has still over half trad left. I have no experience of concrete surfaces however...

Dunx, I'm well thanks, will be at Elvington on 14th if you're about. "Made of concrete" doesn't sound like a recommendation.
MY94, Imagine driving on coarse emery paper and you'll get the idea, the pirellis are a well soft tyre and you could ruin them in one day at Elvington. The voids in concrete tend to make soft track tyres not perform much better than ordinary tyres, I'm looking for something that gives enough grip to enjoy and have reasonable life, perhaps I'm asking too much.
Cheers, Diccy.

225/45/17 and 225/40/18 as I have 3 sets of wheels. Concrete tyres probably to go on OE 17s so a toss up between RE070 and Parada 2s. Don't mind making a stab in the dark as they wont last long anyway so its not like I'm stuck with them for years. I'm inclined to give the Parada 2s a try as they are very hard and have been recommended by a local motorsport specialist who will also do me a deal on a set.

Hi D1CCY
Saw your car today at Elvington. I was in the 56 Hawkeye.
I was on Bridgestones and I have to say (I was shown the 'Squeal' sign several times!) they've come back pretty much untouched. Very pleased with them. Agree the surface there is shocking and was willing some rain to come
But all in all a good day. What tyre did you go for in the end?
