re070 235/45/17s more difficult to source?
hi all, just bought some spare wheels that had re070s with a 235 width rather than the usual 225. problem is though when going on the usual sites (camskill etc.) i dont seem to be able to get a price for that particular width????. i know that they do them (somewhere) but from who? i do prefer the extra 1cm width btw as i do think it feels that little bit more sure footed in the corners. any help appreciated

i totally understand where you are coming from bud and i thought the same, i recently bought wheels with these already fitted and on changing them over the diffrence was imo amazing (similair to when you get your car lowered, if you know what i mean), soooo much more grip in the corners. you have gotta try them if you get the chance!!!

I've got an STI with AST type 25 suspension from Powerstation, so it's pretty much how I would like it to be.
I'd have thought there would be more to be gained going down the 18" lower profile route or even semi slick a la Toyo 888.
Having said that, the 070 is a pretty special stand alone dry tyre with it's "direct" hard side wall combined with a fairly track based compound/tread block pattern.
From what you say, I would definately like to try them, but I probably won't get the chance.

Well 235 R888s are obviously the way to go! - if you can afford them.
How would your Missus look at you if you suggested having two sets of wheels.
Then you can try the Federals for track days - I don't know if they are road legal though.
I just have two sets - one with 070s (summer/track) and the other with Goodyear Assyms.
Money and space are the problems here.
Good luck.
