Tyres for 18" p1 wheels.
#1
I'm still in a dilema as to what tyres to put on the 18s I get next week.Do I put 225/35/18 p zeros(recommended by prodrive),or do I put 215/35/18 toyos(recommended by mellow).I've narrowed it down to these two.Somebody please help as my head is in bits.
Cheers.

Hi there m8,
thats a tricky one. Personally I don't like P-Zeros - for one reason or another I don't like how they feel.
I run Yoko AVS Sports 225x35x18 on my P1 - they have been good tyres - compound is quite soft and they are pretty sticky.
I'd previously run Toyos on my other 2 scoobys and found them to be great. The only reason I didn't get them in 18" form is that there were none in the country.
Ian.

I had to opt for the 215/35/18's on Toyos on my sti5 as the 225/35/18 catch in the arches
Saying that the 215 only give a 4.7% increase in rollign radius (All other things being equal!) whereas the 225 would increase this even more (over the 16's)
If you have NO clearance probls then go for the 225/35/18 as you are less likely to curb the wheels. I've curbed all 4 wheels now on mine in the last few months as the 215's offer no protection whatsoever, whereas the 225's give you a bit of rubber protection

I've got Goodyear F1 Eagles (couldn't get the Toyos) 225/35/ZR18s
They're the Prodrive wheels on a P1 - no changes and no problems with the tyres. It is noticeably toeing-in better on the corners although the ride is somewhat harsher.
