PM Wurzel, BMWhere, or Swassie on here
They all run winter tyres
You could keep your summer tyres on your existing rims.
And buy a new set of rims and put winter tyres on them when in Germay
Although if the temps get real low even in the summer then obviously the above is not worth it.

Thanks, I have sent them PM's.
I have just fitted some Michelin Alpin PA3 but not sure what tyre pressures I should use. Do you use the same as what the manufacturer states for the all season tyres?
Thanks.
P.S. I can't find anyone with username Swassie

What car do you run? And where to in Swden are you moving?
The regulation in Sweden states that you have to have regulation winter tyres (according to the authorities list) if driving in winter conditions from December 1st to April last. That is, if you only run in weather where there clearly are no ice or snow (say 5 degrees warm and have been for a while) then you don't need winter tyres. Of course, once you're here you'll want it anyway as there'll be those cold days occasionally (and because summer tyres ARE bad at lower temps). (And 'cause you'll want to be able to drive to Norrland to do some ice-track running ) But the winter-tyre market is much bigger here than in UK so if possible buy them here.
And type, studded or not depend onwhere you live and how you drive the car. Generally, with Nokian or Gislaved you can't go wrong.

Winter Tyres
Hi there,
I live in the north of scotland and use Gislaved winter tyres - they are swedish and are brilliant. I run Toyo T1r's - 215/40/17 in the summer but use the original allow rims with Gislaved 205/50/16 in the winter. Speed raing is much lower obviously but they give bags of grip.
Cheers
Mike

Thanks dude, I became a member of the swedish impreza club but can't understand swedish yet unfortunately
I have already been to Sturup raceway track (pics in the Community->General section of the forum) to take a look and it was great
I can't fault the Michelin Alpins so far they are great.

EVO mag have just tried a set of these, Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme on a trip to Geneva in a Cooper S. They reckoned the grip in snow/slush/ice was as good as a decent normal tyres in the wet..!
As said speak to the people on here who use these sort of tyres (Wurzel etc..).
