Default Urgent Tyre Help Please

Hi Guys.

just purchased a MY94 WRX which is pretty standard apart from tyres.

The tyres i have are Max Sport RB5-F2.

They are very slick type tyres with a weird pattern on them.

The problem is im getting a whinning noise when driving?????

The guy i got it from reckons it is the tyres that make the noise??

Does anyone have experience of this?

im going through the paranoid stage of new car ownership

Yep ! I got slightly more expensive (cough !) Toyo's and they sound like a Land Rover... I like it, reminds me of my MTB !

Could also be wheel bearings, gearbox, or diffs, so if you want peace of mind, get someone to look at it, (or rather, listen to it )

That's true but in my case it is SO obviously the tyres as it starts when fitted and stops when replaced with winter (standard) wheels and tyres...

Semi slicks can make all sorts of noises when put on. I quiet often get asked similar questions about R888s
