Tyres for track/drag use
O.k time for some new rubber..
Had been looking at purchasing Toyo R888 but the only size to suit is 205/40/17....and at £124 fitted each are fairly costly.
So have been looking at Hankook RS2 and Yokohama Parada spec 2 which are in the 215/40/17 size and nearly half the cost fitted!!!
Car only does approx 2500 miles a year if its lucky and will be mostly used for the pod/local airfield/tracks..........very rarely goes out in the wet!
P.s car is an sti ra running approx 400hp...
Any advise welcome...
thanks

R888's are soft, noisy and grip like a sticky thing....
At that mileage they should last two years, only joking....
DunxC
P.S. Carroll Shelby once said "Speed (Grip) costs money, how fast you wanna go ?"

Have (hillclimbed) raced on Kumho V70's in medium and soft compounds. The soft will die in a lap or two but the BMW series run on them in med and hard.
Good sticky tyres cost money.
A full set of real AVON hillclim slicks cost about £1000 and mine lasted 20 miles.
Rob Harriman killed his in about 15 miles (but he is faster than me!)
Tyres make a massive difference.
