Default 225/45/17 - classic?

Fellas,

I notice people are recommending the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyre but I can only find it in 225/45/17 size (for 17" in wheel).

Is this size suitable for a classic sti or is it too wide?

norm for a classic in 17" is either 205/45 or 215/40

i do have 215/45s on mine, toyo 888s
and with the eibach springs and alot of tools in the boot it does catch on the reart on very bumpy roads.

i ve just lowered my car on 50mm H&R s and bought 17 in wheels and then put on 205/45/17 tyres which i personally wouldn t want to be any wider cause hitting a roundabout hard it rubs slightly so u can image wot 225 would be like. i think and have heard ur better sticking to the orginal 205 width but then again everyone has there own opinions....

the 205 is tight enough to the out arche has well so depends how low and stiff ur car is

hope this helps

These tyres are too big for the car, though i think they do a 205/45/17 inch, had a look in the local tyre place when they fitted my new exhaust to my omega.

Yes so do I. The original question was will 225/45/17 run on a classic, as this is what the new vredestein sessanta ultrac are size at.
