Pirelli P-Zero Neros.... Are they any good?

Pirelli P-Zero Neros.... Are they any good?
Getting some new Alloys (18" Prodrive GC05s) fitted to my STi this week. But the garage only supply the Pirelli Pzero Neros on the wheel. At the moment I have Goodyear F1 GSD3's on my stock 17" alloys, which have stopped the tramlining I had with the Bridgestones. Are the pirellis any good? And will I encounter the old tramlining again?

Had them when I first got my PFF7's. They took an age to bed in (1000miles) but the grip levels were not to bad. Went to Michelin PS2's afterwards and have never looked back. A much better tyre.

The Pirelli range confuses me somewhat but a friend just replaced some P Zero Neros on his gallardo and can't wait to get back to them. Or am I thinking Rossos. So confusing!

I had Pirelli P-Zero Neros 215/40's on my 17" wheels. Plenty of grip in the dry, a little less convincing in the wet. I don't recall any tramlining with them. I then got hold of some Bridgestone GR7000's 215/40Z and they were not so good, less feel, less bite on turn in. I had two fail on me after I brought the car back to the UK, one egg and one tyre wall failure (!). They tramlined badly too. Just as well you can't get them in the UK. I'm now using Toyo Proxes T1R's and I've very happy with them.

I've got a set of GC05s on my Type 20.
If you buy the wheel/tyre from Subaru, the tyre that comes fitted to this wheel as standard is the Pirelli Corsa Assymmetrico. Bit of info here Pirelli PZero Corsa System at The Tire Rack.
They're also fitted to the RB320 as standard but are apparently extremely difficult (read impossible) to find replacements in the UK at present.

i have pirelli pzero rossos 225/40/18 and they seem like a great tyre although ive had them on less than 2 weeks. They are wrapped on 18" rota gra's in gunmetal. Btw the rb320 have pirelli pzeros.

Cheers for the responses. Now have the wheel and trye package fitted. And yes my worries seem to be un-just. No tramlining, and the grip seems to be good in the dry. Just have to wait for a wet/rainy day and some scrub in time. And they do seem less twitchy than the Bridgestones. Must be that stiffer sidewall.
