Question

As my tyres are on their way out i was going to go for a set of S03's but i have heard from a couple of people in the tyre business that S02's are still readly available with no sign of deletion.

My local dealer can do 4* 225/40/18 S02's for £630

So my question is do i stick with my old faithful and trusted S02's or go for the S03's

Thanks
Scott

Thumbs up

Thanks Dave

I do like S02's, I've had 2 sets on my RB5 and 1 set on my "NOVA 2L16v" so i do like them but if the S03's are a match for the 2's it would be a sensible choice to go for the 3"s

Scott,

If you get the S02s, and then for whatever reason need to get a replacement you may find it dificult as they become more rare.

That, and I like the S03s - where all the negative press came from I've no idea Once worn-in the S03 are great.

Cheers.

Interesting - I tried to get some 225/40x18 around a month ago and was told they were totally unavailable - there are supposedly some *odd* imported ones coming in though.

We have S03 in this size on my WRX and Toyo's on Carolyn's.

The S03 is probably better in the wet (they were excellent at Brands in a monsoon) but the Toyo is better on snow. Haven't had the chance to compare them in the dry yet.....

From experience of the S02 on our old MY00's, IMVHO the S03 is as good as the S02 or better, and the Toyo pretty close.
