Can I replace just 1 tyre?
My Subaru is due an MOT, but the front drivers side tyre is quite bald on the inside only. All the others have lots of tread left. Am I alright to just replace the one tyre??

First question is, why is that one tyre so low??
'if' the other front one has at least half tread, then i would say yes, you can just replace the one, if it's getting low, then i would say get a pair, personally i would get a pair anyway, at least that way you have equal grip on both front tyres, which lets face it do most of the braking, and all of the steering....!!

I do know what you mean, just running a bit low on funds at present, so would strugle to afford two tyres!! Il see how much the other side has left on it.
To be honest, I have no idea why tho. I have only recently purchased the car off a friend. It does not pull to either side when driving, so I was assuming the tracking is all ok? What could cause the uneven wear??

Hi steve0
It should not be wearing down the tyre like that on one side only, as Ron has said, you would need to start with 2 new tyres, and then get the geometry checked out by someone who knows what they are doing, as you don't know the history of the car, it may just be something as simple as running to much negative camber on that side, if it's got standard suspension it will allow a little over 1 degree negative.
