Had 3 sets of 'em and never had a problem (seem to be in minority on here). I've only got around 5000-6000 miles out of each set though They're not as good as the SO2's I bought off Dave-TS!

Cheers,

Ian.

Are you sure - OEM on my ex MY00 - I once likened them to a vaselined eel on polythene.....

They make a good dry track day tyre....errrr, that's it!

Thumbs up

I must be the only one who likes 'em. I'm currently running OE 16" wheels on my MY00 waiting for me Toyo's to go onto my 17".

The Toyo's are very grippy and progressive, don't get me wrong but the RE010's are a right laff if grip isn't your holy grail

I find them quite in offensive.

Hmmmm, still think I'l have to give em a miss, my Type R has an 'amusing' tendency to lose traction as it is . Think I'd better get something more appropriate......

Red face

RE010's are more slippy than a slippy thing and less grippy than a thing that's not very grippy, more tramliney than a tramlining thing that's got a degree in tramlining.

Oh and the ride is unnecessarily harsh compared to Toyo's

Another minority view.
Low-speed they tramline, wriggle and generally **** you off with seriously harsh ride.
High speed they are super-predictable and rock-solid. Because they ARE rock solid!
Wet - I think they're pretty good over 4mm, and nice and predictable, easy to slide the back a bit without risking losing it. Get slippy with less than that though....as Gridlock says, more fun, I used to look forward to the rain....

I used to like the sharp turn in, and er, not much else.
Used to tramline all over the place, which was exciting.

However, towards the end of thier life they seemed to loose all grip and became rather good fun.....I was almost upset at changing to S02s...until I realised that my car could go in a straight line without having to constantly adjust the steering wheel.

My experience so far:

They are useless when cold (no grip etc.) but improve when warmed up. Wet grip is poor but predictable >4mm but quickly dwindles to no grip at all when the tread wears <4mm. I have not experienced any bad tramlining either at high or low speed. Wear rates seem quite reasonable (>8000 miles to get to 4mm) but if you change at 4mm this isn't that good.

I won't be buying any more (F1's for me I think).

Cool

try SO-3..... very grippy, nice , nice, nice, by the way 010's suck and that's all I have to say about those then....
went from SO2 to 010 to horror to SO3 to bliss..... don't really care how long they last... do you? if so.... may I ask why? ;-))
this is all on an STi3 4-door.

hope this is useful

Mikey ;-)
