Thanks for your views guys. I need to replace the tyres on my STI and just can't decide what to get. I'm buying quite a lot of other parts at the the moment (whiteline droplinks, whiteline rear ARB, new rear shocks, silicone induction hose (original has split), stainless up-pipe (original has burst)), so cost is a factor, however I also appreciate the importance of good tyres.

The car currently has Goodyear Eagle F1's all round - so I'll either stick with them or go for something like the Toyo T1-R. Just wondered why the Falken's were getting slated as I though they were a quality manufacturer.

I've had several sets of FK451 and 452's, and love 'em to bits. They are in a different league to most of the other budget brands and I'd have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them. For what its worth I prefer them to the Toyo's (T1s and T1r).

Not sure about the rest of the falken range, but like every budget supplier there'll be a dog or two in there somewhere- but don't knock the FK's unless you've tried them.

I think it's another case of tyres either suiting, or not suiting, particular types of cars...

I had a set of Falkens on a 2 ltr Astra CDX I once had & at the time I thought they were great, with lots of grip, but didnt last that long... Mind you that was pre-Scoob days & since then I've prefered Toyo's offerings or Goodyear's F1's....
