avon zz3 tyres rubbing!
i put two new avon zz3 215/45/17 on the rear of my car but the rear suspension is quite soft and they were rubbing the arches as car is quite low. moved them to the front and they still rub, the tyre wall on the zz3 seems to stick out alot further than my old tyres which slanted in the way.
has anybody else found this?
my alloys are offset 48, would 215/40/17 tyres be better. any suggestions?

I have Toyo T1-s in the same size on my classic with suspension setup by Powerstation. They rub too, its not just the Avons and the wheels they are on are Subaru WRX OE 17"
215/45/17 isn't the correct size for classics, try 205/45 or the more easily available (and cheaper) 215/40

I've got Toyo T1-Rs on - 215/40/17, with Eibachs (think it's a 20mm drop) on a classic. Never had any problems with rubbing on the arches.

had the balancing checked, the fitter told me the wheel was buckled but i was on my to stratford, long marston, for some drag racing, like a fool i carried on, bad vibrations all the way
competed on the sunday then drove back(devon) on the monday
tyre blew on M5 nr tiverton, luckily i was only doing 55-60.
so,in theory , it was my own stupid fault and probably not the maker of the tyre but it's still put me off them....
