Hot Tyres
Can anyone tell me if it's normal for the front tyres to be warm after approx. 10 miles @60 -70 mph of motorway driving, on 225/45R17 ? rears are cold. car is 2006 STI model, that i LOVE. thanks.

I don't think you have anything to worry about there. Remember, the front tyres have extra work to do in steering the car.
I've seen a small amount of steam coming from my tyres when it's been wet/icy, after coming off the motorway.

Thanks, for your reply, I checked and adjusted the tyre presures from 30psi - 33psi on the front and 30psi - 28psi on the rear as recomended, and it made a small differance (cooler). The tyres seem to reach a set temperature quite quickly, and stay at that temp. I just never had that happen on my 1.6 Focus...But then I never had 280 BHP either !! Thanks agian.

The RE070's are a softer compound and are designed for grip in both wet and dry conditions (dont let the tread pattern fool you )
If you think they get warm now, wait until you have had a blast down a country lane and feel how soft and sticky they get
