Which is the daddy of tyres for the sti my03

I have bridgestone potatoes on at the minute 225/40/18's
Not impressed at all in this ***'y weather
So,guys give your verdict on the daddy of all tyres

I am running goodyear f1's they have been good in all types of weather conditions and they are lasting well so thats another good thing.

Jesus, I had a set of these things on my previous car (MY00 UK Turbo) and I'll tell you that its safe to say they didn't last that long.

I don't think I was driving particularly hard either?

They are a good tyre though.....plenty of grip.
I've head that the michelin pilot sport 2's are meant to be very good.
Thats what will be going onto my UK STI next...Its got toyo's on at the moment and personally I think they're terrible. Wish i'd never got them.

I'm running the Michelin's on mine at the moment and they are a big improvement on Toyo T1S's for inspiring confidence in what grip is available. Quite noisy and lock up easily when cold. But I'm happy with them.

Toyo Proxes T1-R, although with all the recommendations on here, i will be trying the F1 next time around. If i get that far without buying a new car! LOL.

iv got toyo proxys on sti uk and think there pants only had um about a month so ill have to suffer for now but ill never go there again

Getting some poor feedback about the toyos,Always heard good things about them in the past but before i have always used michelin pilots,But general reasoning seems to point towards the goodyear for a scoob?

Whats the best wet weather tyre for grip?

I'm fed up of sliding about and steering to avoid stationary cars in the wet due them locking and kicking in the ABS all the time. (Avon zz1's - yes I know - I still have 3mm left on the worst of the 4 tyres, will they EVER wear out? )

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres totally transformed my car. They give more grip, confidence and enjoyment.

Another vote for the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3`s for normal road use. Now on my second set. Handlling in both wet and dry always feels in control.

I've had Eagle F1's, Mich Pilots and i'm now running Toyo's (T1-R) on my type-r. I can't say that i've suffered from poor wear out of any of them, but the Toyo's cost me a lot less than the others, and i am well impressed with how they grip, fair enough the back end gets a bit twitchy when you really give it some in the wet, but after a few corners they seem to settle down. Besides a little tail end action can sometimes bring a smile to your face, and i'm sure u all know what i mean. At the end of the day its personal choice and driving driving style that makes a tyre good or bad in anyones mind...

what where the michelin pilots like?,where they the pilot sports?as i happen to have the chance of a set and i've never run on them yet,i'm on toyo's at the mo and they seem ok but would like to put the michelins on if they are any good.

Yeah, they were the sports something something somethings, can't remember exactly, but i could find out if you wanted to know.

They were really good tyres actually, couldn't fault them at all and although i didn't get them straight after the goodies, i reckon they were nearly as, if not equal to them. They also have a cool tread pattern! not that i'm that i got them because of that!!! honest!!!

The only down point is cost, mine set me back £130 a corner as i really wanted/needed them and only one place locally had them in stock!!!

Whay's wrong with the Pirelli Pzero Neros? Got these fitted on my new PFF7 wheels but haven't fitted them to the car - will I be disapointed?

The Pirellis are not bad at all. Had 2 sets b4 the sp2's. Now I have these thou, I woul'nt go back thou as the sp2's much better imho

If you want the best wet weather grip go for Goodyear F1, but they don't last as long as some others.
Have had Bridgestone S03, RE040, and Toyo T1-S on my STI and Goodyear wipes the floor with all of them in wet and dry, very impressive levels of grip, I'd be surprised if there is a better all-round road tyre for all conditions, if there is I've not come across it.
