My dad wants to get some anti-dust brake pads for his 03 WRX as no soon as he has cleaned the car, the wheels aare black. I suggested EBC green Stuff pads. any other ideas for other pads??
and where from??
My dad is not a heavy/or late braker unlike me who is a VERY VERY late braker in a Astra 1.6

www.asperformance.com <<<<<<< Ferodo DS2500 pads? (user name Stockcar)

EBC greens are not man enough for a big car like the Impreza. OK (just OK) for things like kit cars but not for big saloons.
EBC reds are getting some better reports recently in the ceramic guise but I'm not sure if these are sold with a no dust promise like the previous EBC offerings.
I think you have to accept that brake pads wear as they work and if they wear they're going to make dust. Live with it.

After buying some Ferodo's DS2500 and reading that several said they gave off more dust I was prepared.
I brought some alloy wheel protector (I think Turtle Wax stuff) from Halfrauds and sprayed that on. I wasn't really hoping for any success. But when I wash the wheels now the dust just comes off real easily, it's not caked on and needs no real effort to get it off. I'm most impressed.
I think you have gotta accept that pads give off dust, so either clean the wheels more often, get some of those ugly plastic discs that go behind the alloy or get some of the spray on protector.

Are they ok if you are not a heavy braker, using brakes and gears combined to slow the car down my dad uses rather than just brakes like cra@p driver use and do.

I use DS2500s and they are very dusty - front wheels are black after a week, but I also used some spray on wheel protector. Supposed to give a polymer coating to the wheels and I must admit it seems to work well. A sponge and cold water is all it takes to get them clean again.
Think the product was Protex 4. Its has Max Power logos on it for some reason - but dont let that put you off
