Interested in this!
P8, is the pad for road use?
Stockcar, for better braking on the road from stone cold, wouldn't the 2500 be the best of the 2?
I'm on Green Stuff and not too impressed.

Not too keen on my DS2500's. Loads of vibration on large rotors and I've had them fade a little when very hot. About to try the Red Ceramic EBC's to see how they compare.

personally would recomend the rs4.2.1, is probs the better all round pad (apart from price differential nearly always slightly more expensive dependant on application!!)).............
the two pads are very similiar material, however the Pagid has slightly better outright friction/temp. ability, but the main difference is in the "cold bite" which is better on the Pagid............
the above is based on our "real world" experiences of both these products having direct manufacturer links..............and is my personal opinion - you would not be disappointed with either material used in their correct application

So, there I am belting up to a tight 90 left on a hill climb, 7800rpm in 3rd and trying to fix a braking point, ie just where will my nerve run out, and I have to brake, change down to 1st, and get going again.
First time the brakes have been used on the run so at (best) ambient temperature, 18deg C.
Which pads do you put YOUR faith in? (and the track might be wet!)
(Stock Sti v3 twin pot brakes/single rears and vented rotors all round)

for a start i would probs have AP, etc. all round!! LOL
if your stuck on 2pot, then something like rs4.2 "blue" v.good cold bite, with a reasonable temp/friction ability!!
depends on your budget??

A hill climb champion once told me (when I raced my 911) that if your brakes don't fade, then you don't need up rated brakes!
Alyn, can you pm me with cost for my Sti v3 please?

I used to run Pagid RS421 with my APR brakes, and liked them very much (track days and winter commuting ) except for the price. So swapped to DS2500 - saving £100 a set - and have twice had problems with (I think) pad deposits or some kind of high-speed vibration that I cannot fathom. Hence new discs going on this week so I'll get to the bottom of it eventually.
This pad deposit/vibration thing apart (and it might of course be something entirely unrelated) the biggest difference I noticed between the two pads is that the DS2500 require noticeably less pedal pressure. This leads to less rear-brake bias which I found made the car less stable so I balanced it out as best I could by putting higher friction pads in the rear (DS2500 again, as it happens).
I would like to go back to Pagid RS421 but APR don't make it to fit the 6-pots any more which require a 17mm pad depth to fit (not 18mm as standard). Stockar, can you help me out here at sensible money?
Richard.

If your going going to be frapping the car on track then the 2500's may not be enough.
But for for heavy road use then they are superb. I'm on my second set. You can feel the point of lock up and moderate the pressure. The pads are so progressive that they are difficult to lock up. You can stand on the brake and there is no lock up, you just stop very quickly.
