Default Best tyres for Classic..and cheapest source

I know it's been asked a thousand times before, but what is the latest thought on tyres for a standard classic 205/50/16. I've just about worn out my Toyos T1-S s, and need to know what is now reckoned to be the best tyre, and where to get them for the lowest price. By the way, anyone know what the difference is between a T1-S, and a T1-R (new?) Toyo, and also GSD 2, and GSD 3 Eagles?

Having run on road and track on TS1's, I would be tempted by the new Toyo's.
I feel the side wall 'flex' suits the car well.
There will be many personal slants on your question, but all of those makes are deliver performance.

Thumbs up T-1R's

Got them on my car and like them a lot - more wet grip, quieter and less a bit stiffer sidewall than old ones. So far so good. Look good as well

FB, where did you get them and how much were they?

And did you say they have stiffer sidewalls than the T1-S?, couldn't work out that bit

ring around local stockists with a choice of a couple of tyres and ask how much - you'll probably find they'll undercut each other.

ATS did me Goodyear Eagle F1's for £89 a corner.

If your in the North-West, there's a place in Wrexham that did me Eagle GSD3's in 225/40/18 size for £95, so they'd do you a bargain on your size
