18" Tyre choice

18" Tyre choice
I've just purchased a set of 18" wheels for my MY03 WRX and now require a set of 225/40/18 tyres.
I've read lots of posts regarding tyre choice and still can't decide which way to go.
The choice at the lower cost end seems to be - ToyoT1S, Goodyear GSD3 F1's, Avon ZZ3's. Has anyone recently fitted any of these 3 types and can over comment regarding performance (I'm interested mainly in road noise and performance in the wet as I assume they will all be pretty good in the dry).
Is it worth spending a bit more and fitting PZero Nero's ??
Any advice is welcome
Thanks

I've just put GSD3's on an STi9 (or 10 or whatever it is!!!) and although they've only got 600 miles on them I think they're fine. I also fitted these to my MY03 WRX when I upgraded wheels to PFF7s.
On the STi I originally has RE070's (17")which were rock hard but the dry grip was amazing - I think GSD3 are a good compromise.
Thing is you'll probably get an equal number of people voting for and against all the ones you mentioned!!
Good luck.

I've nicely bedded my GSD3's in now, they are superb in the wet, very good indeed. The dry grip is good, just not excellant (I've also had the RE070's and they are amazing in the dry).
I've heard good things about the Pirelli's and have had PZero's on my car before, but they're not better than the Goodyears (certainly not in the wet). I got my 18" ones for £105 each fitted, so that made the difference for me

I was thinking of Nero's because thats what Subaru / Prodrive supply !!
Where did you get the Goodyears from at that price ?
ZZ3's seem to be getting very good reports, but are they better all round than the Goodyears ?

Any more comments / advice
I'm going to order tyres within the next couple of days.
At this moment I'm swinging towards the ZZ3, just read a small article in the SIDC mag by Phil Stevens - he always used Toyos but reckons the ZZ3 is as good.
Come on chaps help me spend my money !!!
Thanks
