WRX MY02 TYRE SIZE Questions???
WRX MY02 TYRE SIZE Questions???
I have had an offer to buy 4 "lightly used" bridgestone's for £100, to put on my WRX MY02. The problem is that there not the same size as the standard fit tyres. I think there off an EVO and are
215/40/17 as apposed to 215/45/17's fitted to my WRX.
1. Has anyone tried this size of tyre on there WRX MY02?
2. Would i notice any bad effects, going for a smaller diameter and sidewall etc? ( I have already discovered that the speedometer would be reading 3.4% to fast.) But would it have any effect on the handling/ performance off the car?
Thanks
Chicko

1. Most peeps don't use Bridgestone again once the OEM set has worn out.
2. Such a small change in spec is unlikely to be noticeable.
3. The speedo will read an additional 3.6% fast. It is probably overreading already.
4. Don't forget to change to 10356 mile service intervals

Are they the standard RE050's then or different model? There won't be any noticeable differences, in theory you should feel a little more with the lower profile, but it's very unlikely.
Yeah the speedo will be a little more out, but not drastically so - are they 215's, as most are 225's (Evo's are 235's in standard format).
