We have Nankang tyres on my wife's Seicento Sporting. Driven normally e.g by the wife they are fine. Driven with any sort of enthusiasm e.g. by me :-) it will spin up an inside wheel in third on a wet corner and that's with all of 54bhp!

I've got nankang NS-II on the front of my fugly - they're OK.
Bit noisy, fairly soft, no more understeer than the tyres before, or the tyres before that!

Lasted for about 12,000 miles of spirited mostly B road driving

I've never been on on a trackday so no idea what they're like in anything other than the real world

If it gives you an indication - I paid £150 for the front two fitted and balanced etc. I saw them about a fortnight ago on www.mytyres.co.uk for £50 each - and would happily have them again at that price!

edited to say, I always take it easy in the wet because life's too short already, so can't comment on that aspect of their ability

How much have you been quoted for them?

cheers

Chris

I wouldn't go for the nankangs mate. I've had then fitted on my 94wrx sti since i got it in November and find them awful. I they are ok in the dry but any water and the advantages of owning a scooby go out the window cos it will slide around the slightest of bends. I can't wait to change mine.

Thumbs up

I have some nankangs on my 00 turbo, looked like the same tread pattern as the original bridgestones and the handling is about the same in the dry until pushed for long periods, talking lots of bends, hard braking etc then they just lose grip and when it comes to rain its fine with the missus in but on ya own its very sideways, predictable though and fun.

Originals lasted 16 tho and these have been on for 14 tho and loads of tread left, maybe at least another 14 tho on them.

I paid £192 for 4 fitted etc and for that price have no complaints with them but if you always push it maybe not the best choice.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Paul

you get what you pay for. driving a 200+ bhp car and trusting to a tyre that i would describe as one step up from a remould is sheer madness IMHO. just my 2p worth. and yes i had 4 nankang 225/40 x17 on my wifes golf. ok it was a 1400cc but the tyres just didnt instill confidence in either the wet or the dry.

cheers
