I will shortly need to replace the original front pads on my MY00.
Is there anywhere can I get new Subaru MY00 pads at a decent price? - I think they are around £100 from a main dealer.
Alternatively, can anyone suggest other makes of pad which would be okay with the standard discs. Any part number info, supplier details, etc. would be useful.
Many Thanks,
Ian.

You could try ebc green stuff (or red stuff for track use ) good bite and not a bad price (£70ish) Try tyres northampton (Mark) as they stock them, they will be at bedford aurodrome on friday if this is any help.
cheers simon

Hi Ian
I have also a my2000 with standard discs and Mintex 1155 setup front-rear, since last year.
I have no experiences with other compounds but I am pretty happy with the results, except the dirty wheels. A friend with EBC green pads has the same problem with Carl.
Just remember the wright bedding in process to avoid the squeak (1155 )!

I now have 1155s with grooved Black Diamond discs and get very little squealing (some when going backwards) -- I'm not sure I followed the bedding in procedure either, as I didn't know what it was. They seem to have less 'feel' than the Greens, but when pressed they stop pretty quick!

Ian, if your car's under warranty you'd best go for either standard Impreza pads, or the uprated Prodrive pads (Ferodo DS2000). If you're hard on the brakes you'll soon run into warped disc problems and with either of these pads there can be no warranty arguments.

Thanks again for the replies.
My car is now out of warranty (Dutch Import - so only 1 year) and I'd obviously prefer a pad that doesn't warp the discs.
It looks like Mintex 1155s might be the ones to go for. I've looked on the database on their website

Can't remember the number, but they're the same pads as a Nissan 300. And remember to specifiy the part number and the material (1155), otherwise you'll just get standard material (you'd only expect to pay about £40 for standard material).

Good idea Gav! What brake pad shape do I need for a MY00? I've looked at the charts and it says "Check the brakes information in the product data section for more info." Where is the product data section?
What is the difference between the 1144, 1155 and 1166 compounds with the Mintex pads?
Cheers,
Ian.

Scoobynet Shop shape 'C' is for your car. I would go for the DS2000 (Best price in Scoobynet Shop ) or Tarox as these are disc friendly as well.
