No feedback but I've just changed my S02 order for S03s based on advice from Micheldever, and only £3 more at £115 all in.

Hi Mark,

Good ride quality and they do not make to much noise. Changed back to 18in wheels as they still understeer a bit to much in 215 40 17 for me.

Many thanks everyone.Brian, still cant get any info on so3's from that site .Rich, intersting observations, I'm only on 16", hope I dont experience excessive understeer.Mark H, I dont know if you go anywhere near Jet tyres in Canvey island, they quoted me £96 fitted inclusive vat, thats for 16" so3's which I think is very good. I'm getting some at the end of the week. Cheers everyone,

Mark

Mark,

How well do you know jet tires because I have been going to them for years and have recommended them on this board before.

Just an idea, but tell them you know Adam in the impreza and that I recommended you go there. Take some cash along and you might find they are cash friendly

I noticed you all seem to be from down south but if anyone from north wales/chester knows where i can get some SO3s for anywhere near £115 i'd be well interested. Went to Demon Tweeks this week and they want £160 a corner or £155 for SO2s. Alternatively mail order's an option. 215 40 17 by the way.

cheers Matt.

Micheldever are in Hampshire - J7 M3/A303 West/Signs for Micheldever station - they are next door.

They also do superb Subaru laser alignment - although as they get very busy they prefer to do this at 8am by appointment!!!!! (This includes ensuring the rear has even camber and proper toe.)

R

PS Forgot to say - 17in S03s fitted, etc, was £520 with valves/hidden balancing etc, 16in wheels are about £50 cheaper.

Cheers for that Rannoch at least i've got a comparison price to work to now. And it's £120 less than what i previously had !
I don't think i'll be making the trip down there just yet although i have got family down south so next time i'm that way it would still be cheaper to make the diversion and get some tyres.
Matt.

That price is outrageous!

I just needed to say that.

It is worth driving to Micheldever - they really take car of your wheels, great service, and you would get to drive your Scoob, run you tyres in all in one day and it would still be cheaper!!!!!!

£150 - £160 is the standard price that places like Kwik-Fit will charge for you for S-02s aswell. They're all rip-off merchants.

And it's not just performance tyres. The same goes for some Ford Escort tyres I enquired about for my girlfriend -- £88 from Kwik Fit or £55 from Micheldever.

Question

So is the SO3 generally considered better than the SO2 or not?

I have been quoted £132 all in for SO2's and 'special offer' £120 all in for SO3's. I guess the SO3's are the one's to go for then?

Re: Rannoch's price for 16". As I mentioned in the other ongoing S-03 thread, Micheldever do a set of 4 on 16" for £430 including fitting, vat and everything. This doesn't include alignment though.

No-one knows whether Bridgestone's claims for the S-03 are true, ie S-02 grip but with less noise and less wear. Only a few people have put them on their Scooby in the last few days.

Paul,

your price is even better than I thought it was. I guess you might get a few pounds off the 17in price if you pressed them as well!

By the way I can vouch for the fact that they are less noisy - and even though they are still very new (less than 200 miles since yesterday )) they do not seem to suffer the 'glassy' feel that new S02s can suffer from.
