Question

Can anyone recommend UK MY99 pads which give more bite than the standard ones ?

I do not experience brake fade on the road and the car is not used for track days.

I recently fitted the EBC greens and first impressions are favourable as compared to the factory fit Jurids, according to EBC there will be no brake dust or squeal, time will tell.

I Changed my disk and pads at the same time to the EBC set-up. Very little brake dust compared the the std pads and it comes of easier - horrah!

Incidentally, i have a MY99 UK car - i have gone through two sets of disks in 36K of mixed driving, no track days. First set warped @ 17K, replaced under warranty - the second set where scored and badly worn - rather than go for another set of std disks i went for the EBC disks - much better than the normal set-up.

Peter - try Tyres Northampton on 01604 588599 for the EBC - they are competitive on price, you get good unbiased advice and excellent service. They do a lot of work on Scoobys - One of the few companies i will let near my pride and joy - I have no connection with them other than i like & trust 'em!

I agree with Paul on that one - had TN fit EBC discs and greenstuff pads to my Sport last weekend - great bunch of guys. Give 'em a call and ask for Mark.

I've yet to find a pad that offers more bite than Green Stuff on the road. No squealing and no dust are nice benefits too.

Thanks guys !

I was expecting recommendations for Mintex/Pagid/Ferodo
Looks like the EBC pads will fit the bill

Is it Ok to use these EBC greens with my standard disks ?

PP.
Yes it is fine, though an upgrade would give even better results.

Jim

Whats your first impression, (after running in ) of the EBC greens compared to your original MY99 pads ????

Have you just done the fronts ?

I don't think EBC do Greens for the rear yet, but I could be wrong.

Got them via the scoobyshop, at the top of this page, £75.00 inc vat. First impressions are very good, loads of bite, pedal pressures reduced, a lot less dust and the dust that does get on the wheels is very easy to clean off.
