The "Logo" is no good?

I've done about 5K on a set of Michelin Pilots and I'm not happy! They squeel, make front end too light and scrabble for grip when cornering hard in the dry, and they are terribly noisey at speed. On the plus side they are wearing well... but that doesn't matter cos I want to change them!
Anyone else experienced this sort of thing with these? I'm particularly jarred because the bloke who sold them to me said they were a "quiet" tyre!
What's a good alternative (besides OE tyres), bearing in mind I'm a farmer (very poor!) and I live 3/4 mile down an unsurfaced track - too softer tyre is no good to me!
Help much appreciated.

Ha! if you were that poor a farmer you would be driving a fifteen year old Soob pickup held together with baler twine like a proper farmer.
Can't you get a set of double tractor wheels on it then?
PS Bridgestone SO2

Continentals are great. They are a hard compund, so they last long and grip great in the dry. Bridgestones grip well in the wet, but in the dry, you can chew them up in no time.
The continentals hardly ever squealed.

I was joking when I said I was poor. I have loads of European Community subsidy money to spend!!
Seriously, I just want the best tyre for the job - whatever the cost.
