Given that these (225/35x18) are closer to the correct rolling diameter (rather than 215/35s) of the original (and current) 205/50x16 and would give a slightly taller sidewall, so a slightly better ride, (and Toyos+F1s) what is necessary to be able to run these on my UK classic with Eibachs fitted ?
Is it simply a matter of getting the correct wheels ?
Or should I have the arches rolled ?
Or is it just a no go -
Anyone have any experience of this scenerio ?
I DEFO don't want the tyres catching the arches or suspension...
Thanks,
Mark

i've got 18" P1 wheels on mine (MY99 with eibach springs) they're 8"x18" with the 225/35/18, never rubbed or caught on anything.
think it's the offset that makes the difference, the P1s are something like ET55, maybe more, and theres not a massive amount of alloys that go that high.
someone else may be able to give alternatives, but these are a perfect fit.
by the way, the ride is a massive difference when you go from 16", alot harder, but lots more grip although you feel the car trammlineing a fair bit. well worth doing

There are some more pics in projects forum mate.
There is room even for lowering as some people have suggested. But i have the P1 suspension set up on mine and the handling is great so if i lower it, it will ruin the handling i have now.
Plus i can get everyone in the car with no scrapping or bouncing. If i lower it, i wont be able to do this

NO PROBLEMS! just fitted 18x7.5 ET53 OZ WRC P1 rims with 225/35/18 Toyos, no scrubs or scrapes, its also the recommended tyre size as used on P1's with 18's. 215s dont look right, always seems stretched to fit with a sloping tyre wall.
peccy my00 STi6 Type R (standard suspension)
NOTE: i used to have compotive mo's 18s these were a different offset to the rims i have now, make sure you get the right OEM offset = ET53

Rimstock site here has a fitment guide BUT...
It shows Diablos with an offset of 45 (18x7.5) with 225/35x18
and offset of 52 (18x7.5) with 215/35x18....
So now I'm a bit confused, as their 52 offset seems to show the narrower tyre...
Anyone any clues ?
