Do you own the aforementioned wheel?
On a recent thread on ScoobyNet, a member highlighted that it is "common knowledge" that the Superleggera is "weak", susceptible to buckling and common for spokes to snap.
It was claimed that "every person he knows" have buckled at least one of their Superleggeras, and that 2 of these people have actually snapped the alloys on "a small bump or pot hole"
I have owned 2 sets of SuperL's over 2 years, 18's and now 19's and can't see past them.
I have had no problems and think they are a great wheel.
Now, all you Superleggera owners, I want your experiences with them.....
1) What size/colour of Superleggera do you have? (to see if there is a trend in terms of these)
2) Have yours buckled? (kerbing aside, cos any wheel will buckle against a kerb!)
3) Have your spokes snapped?
4) Do you have any concerns regarding the strength/integrity of the wheel?
5) Any positive points you'd like to make about the wheel?
Lets start the ball rolling cos they are slagging our wheels!

1) 19" Gold Superleggera
2) No
3) No
4) None whatsoever
5) Extremely satisfied with wheels. No concerns over strength and completely satisfied with OZ's reputation as one of the best wheel manufacturers. (must be alright if the WRC teams see fit to use them! )

That a very good point. I see wheels with really thin spokes now.
How much did you pay for set of 4 and was int including the rubber?
Ray
Have you seen the wheels on 4x4's that stay still on the out side but the inside moves. (so it looks like the wheels are not moving when in motion)

- 17's in Anthracite (one of the first set's in the country i believe)
- No they've neverbuckled
- No they've never snapped
- they're a great wheel, lightweight which counts for a lot and they look damn fine.
will be upgrading to 18's in silver soon

4) When I got my second hand set off S/N. I had one wheel that had a crack in the rim about 1.5" on the inside part of the alloy + the wheel also has a flat spot where the last owner hit some thing hard. But when the wheels arrived, they where in a very sorry state.
5) Nice looking wheels when fitted to a Scooby + Nice and light weight
I did get the crack fixed for around £30. But I will be buying a new wheel soon, as I don't want it to fail when I'm driving along.

I've had 2 sets, 15" anthracite (on my xr2i) and 17" silver on the scoob. No problems, concerns or anything with either sets. Love the styling and i'm a tart for the name
Just remembered!
The passenger side wheel on my scoob was damaged in a crash i had (some bloke in a pug ran into the side of me )It was touch and go as to whether or not to scrap the wheel but as they could not find a replacement the insurance company decided to have it refurbed. I wasn't very happy about this but they seem to have done a good job and it's still going strong 10 months on.
I come across plenty of potholes and speed bumps but it's been fine, it's even had two really good twattings since then
