I'm in need of 4 new tyres, and was going for the Pirelli P zero rosso which I can get for £120 each fitted. Any recommendations on other tyres and prices please? I need them for the weekend, so are needed urgently. The tyre size are 225 45 18 zr.

Just my 2p worth, but I went from the oe fit p zeros to Nokian NRZi's. Got them from my tyres for £100 each, and local fitter stuck them on for £20 all in, around 2.5K miles ago. Have been impressed with them unlike the Pzero's. They are an asymetic directional tyre, which confused the fitter to begin with, and were a bit of a pig to fit as they have reinforced sidewalls, and quite a decent rim protector. I have been impressed with the handling of them in both the dry and wet, and they feel alot more stable, unlike the p zeros which I felt were quite squirmy. Also unlike the p zero's they are wearing evenly all round.

Avon ZZ3'S i fitted them after Toyo's which are cr#p (225/45/18)

£103 each all in and £20 fitted.They are great compared with the Toyo's which in damp conditions are the worst tyre i've had.
The original Bridgestones were better than them and why so many people rate them is beyond me.

Just bought 4 Toyo's 225/45/17 for my STI7.

They do seem pretty good, i'd read on here about them being bad in damp conditions etc. However I have'nt found a problem with them. OK after heading off in the mornings when its damp, with cold tyres they do squirm a bit, but once warmed up they're ok.

Haven't really had a lot of rain yet, so can't tell about the wet.

I know it's a bit late as you needed the advice for the weekend, but just for anyone else reading with the same question, I fitted Toyo's as soon as I bought the 18s which was a few weeks after I picked it up (WRX PPP).

I had Toyos fitted to my previous car, a TVR, as well since the recommended SO2s went out of production and the SO3s produced some horrible tramlining effects and didn't feel as stable on spirited country lane jaunts.

The GF also put them on her WRX wagon, replacing the OE tyres and it totally transformed the car. Lots more grip and surface changes mid-bend don't upset the car anymore.

I've had Toyo's on my P1, Evo VII & VIII and my new Spec C. They were great on the Evo's & P1, but I've found the setup isn't quite what the Spec C wants as they don't grip as well on this car as with the others, I'd still recommend them as they're pretty cheap and good performance (£96 fitted from selectatyre - 225/40/18) or if your up Oldham way, Wheelbase are even cheaper than that!

I'm going to try Goodyear's come replacement to compare as they're practically the same tyre, but the reviews are more favourable in the wet.
