went from S03's to F1's, F1's more grip but car doesn't feel as sure footed with the F1's (soft side walls). I'd stick with the S03's

Talking

Need some new tyres pretty badly .

I'm currently running S03 Pole Positions which appear to be pretty hard wearing (fitted last year / 13,000mls), dry grip is good, wet grip is good and they have nice strong sidewalls etc. Only downside (as i can tell) is they tramline a bit, but that doesn't bother me

I've heard a lot of talk of the GDS3's as being a much grippier, harder wearing, better handling tyre (as read on here).

So what is the final point of view between these two tyres, as there has been enough people buying the GDS's who probably had S03's beforehand.

Cheers

Iain

PS. I am currently talking to a major supplier about a possible group buy for the Scoobynet community

Iain, keep us updated about the possible group buy. I'm going to be needing some new tyres in the next month.

Cheers

IIRC F1's seem to get A1 reviews in the 215/40/17 size but the larger profile ie 50's seem to get a 50/50ish review.

I haven't tried this as I'm mooting (read not organised).

I have 225/35x18" S03s. I find the level of grip fine but have doubts about transition from grip-slip and vice-versa, especially when it's wet. Also I find they have a low compliance at anything above 5mph so the ride gets very hard...and the tramline.

Current plan is to put the S03s (currently on the front) on the back of the car and put new Goodyears on the front as the current SO2s on the back are looking a bit on the lean side. I also considered TOYOs but there was a recent post regarding their tramline-ability which is putting me off.

Vindaloo.
