How is it that Goodridge brake line prices vary between the different shops?
At Scoobymania they ask 44 gbp for them, Scoobyshop has them for 71 other places are 100+ for a set.

are there different variations of the GR brake lines or are they all the same..
And if prices are so different, is there a place that hasthem even cheaper than 44?

I think I got it, when SM sells the lines for 44 GBP that is only for the fronts right? Not a whole set of 4 lines...

Changing the lines on the front only is enough or better change them all around?

There's three different materials for the end connections which could explain the price differences...

Anodised aluminium: light-weight race type stuff but has been known to split if overtightened etc (price unknown)

Zinc plated (greeny-gold coloured ends): as sold by most places that do scoob bits, normally next day delivery and approx 45 - 50ish quid a set . OK for most stuff but will corrode over time....

Stainless steel: silvery coloured ends that don't corrode and list price is 76 quid a set delivery time one month for my set as it became a special one-off order

these are prices for my02 set (p/no SSU0500-4C-CF)

you can also have different coloured sleeves over the braidings for poseur effect at additional cost (AFAIK clear sleeving is free)

just to add...

if you're doing the fronts, you've to bleed all the brakes afterwards so you might as well do the rear lines as well, plus

what's the point of leaving the "softer" lines on the back and loose the full advantage of doing the upgrade in the first place?

unless you're "fine tuning" the effect of the p.c.v. to tweak the front / rear brake split

here are the RRP for the "goodridge" impreza kits (4 lines)...........

zinc plated carbon steel ends...........£63.45inc.VAT
stainless steel ends....................£72.85inc.VAT

there are various cost options like "colourflex" protective coating, etc (which we offer as std!!)......

most dealers offer some form of discount (incl. ourselves), but best advice is to make sure you are comparing like with like and also "brand" as some kits are not the same!!

I have just bought a set yesterday with Stainless ends from AS performance in Durham for £60 inclusive so very pleased with that.
That was for a set of 4 hoses although I did buy pads and fluid
so you would have to add p&p on to that.
The goodridge packing does say not to mix stainless and normal
rubber hoses on a braking system so probably wise to do the backs
as well.

Cheers
